How to permanently delete your AstroSure account and the associated personal data

Effective Date: 26 May 2026

This Account Deletion Policy (the “Policy”) explains how you, as a registered user (“User”, “you”) of the AstroSure mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”), may request deletion of your AstroSure account and the personal data associated with it. The Services are provided by AstroSure AI Private Limited (“AstroSure”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given to them in those documents.

1. Your Right to Delete Your Account

You may request permanent deletion of your AstroSure account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Account deletion is free of charge and does not require you to provide a reason.

2. How to Request Account Deletion

You may initiate account deletion in either of the following ways:

2.1 In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the AstroSure app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm your identity through the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email address.
  5. Review the deletion summary and tap Confirm Deletion.

2.2 Deletion by Email Request

If you are unable to access the in-app flow, you may write to us from your registered email address at:

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request, in order to protect your account from unauthorised deletion.

3. What Personal Data Is Deleted

Once your deletion request is verified and the cool-off period referred to in Clause 6 has lapsed, we will permanently delete or irreversibly anonymise the following categories of personal data associated with your account:

Certain limited data must be retained even after account deletion, solely to the extent and for the duration required by applicable law or to protect our legitimate interests. This includes:

Retained data is stored under strict access controls and is not used for personalisation, marketing, or AI-model training tied to you.

5. Subscription, Billing, and Refunds

5.1 If you have an active paid Subscription, please cancel it before requesting account deletion through your Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or in-app subscription settings. Cancellation does not automatically delete your account, and account deletion does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Play Store subscription.

5.2 Consistent with our Terms & Conditions, all payments made for Subscriptions and digital Content are non-refundable upon account deletion, except where refunds are required by applicable law.

5.3 Any unused promotional credits, in-app rewards, or referral benefits will be forfeited upon deletion and cannot be restored.

6. Timeline for Deletion

Cool-off / grace period (you may cancel the request) 7 days from verification
Deletion from active production systems Within 15 days after the cool-off period
Deletion from encrypted backups Within 90 days (backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule)

You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

7. Effect of Deletion

7.1 Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. We cannot restore deleted accounts, chat history, charts, journals, or any associated data.

7.2 To use the Services again, you will need to create a new account. Prior reports, saved charts, and subscription benefits will not carry over.

7.3 Deletion does not release you from any obligations accrued prior to deletion (for example, outstanding payments or indemnities under the Terms & Conditions).

8. Children’s Accounts

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe a child under the age of 18 has created an account without your consent, please write to privacy@astrosure.ai with proof of guardianship. We will prioritise and process such deletion requests on an expedited basis.

9. Grievances

If your deletion request is not processed within the timelines stated in Clause 6, or if you have any concern about how your data has been handled, you may contact our Grievance Officer:

We will acknowledge your grievance within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days, in accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, our practices, or the Services. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Where the changes are material, we will notify you through reasonable means (e.g., in-app notice or email). Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

Disclaimer: This Account Deletion Policy has been drafted to align with current Indian data-protection law as understood at the date of issue, including the SPDI Rules, the IT Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and to satisfy the account-deletion disclosure requirements of the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Several provisions depend on subordinate rules and notifications that may evolve after the issue date of this Policy.
